Message from our E.D.

“For over 20 years, Pathways for Children, Youth and Families has been working hard to meet the ever changing needs of York Region.  As the Region continues to rapidly grow, and the needs of our communities change, so will Pathways.  In April 2011, Pathways launched a 3 year strategic plan that will see the organization serve more people in York Region with the highest possible quality of program.  I am privileged to work with a dynamic group of staff and volunteers who are truly making a difference in the lives of children, youth and families in York Region.”

Michael Braithwaite, Executive Director:

With over 23 years of experience in the social services sector, Michael brings with him a background in housing, employment, youth work, recreation and fundraising.  His work with children, youth and families has led him to positions in Niagara, Hamilton and Toronto before coming to York Region and Pathways in November of 2011.  Before joining Pathways, Michael was in a variety of senior roles with the YMCA. A graduate of Brock University with a Bachelor of Recreation and Leisure Studies degree, Michael is currently close to completing his Post Graduate Diploma in Fundraising and Volunteer Management at Georgian College.  Michael is committed to leading Pathways to new heights to better serve the deserving children, youth and families of York Region.
